American Eagle Captain Javier Medina and proud HPPA member have been participating at
the Lewis University Aviation Career Conference in Romeoville,Ill. for the past 3 years
providing potential aviation students direction. In addition, American Eagle Airlines supports
the conference by providing Captain Medina with an ERJ145 to allow students to tour.
American Eagle pilots and mechanics along with an ERJ145 jet participated at the Lewis University
Aviation Career Conference on Sat, Nov5. Potential aviation students were given the opportunity
to sit in the ERJ145 cockpit and talk to pilots and mechaincs. ATC controllers, FAA and pilots from
other airlines also attended.
Captain Medina personally had many future hispanic pilots and parents come and tell him that he was
the first latino pilot they had ever seen. He told them that they are many hispanics in the profession
and also spoke about HPPA. Captain Medina is now mentoring several potential hispanic pilots.
